Space is fascinating! While we should love and protect our own planet Earth, it is important to know about other planets in our Solar System. We should know about our biggest star the Sun and how space science can help and improve lives here on Earth.
In this excercise we will create a Solar System infographic. And to make fun and engaging we are not using a computer, we will create this infographic on a piece of paper with paint, crayons and markers.

- Paint a piece of paper in blue ( to represent the sky and the cosmos)
- Using yellow and orange paint make a half (-ish) circle at the top of the paper (to represent the Sun)
- Here is the order of planets starting with the planet closest to the Sun:
- Mercury
- Venus
- Earth
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Uranus
- Neptune
- You can use stencils to draw circles for each planet. But remember that the most important part is to learn and have fun. Circles don’t have to be perfect!
- Pay attention to the size of the planets to draw your circles accordingly. (but don’t worry, this excercise should be fun!)
- Color your planets in any way you like!
- Then use this list of facts about each planet to write it (or as we have done here, cut and glue) on your infographic.
Then spend some time learning about our Solar System.
- Which is the smallest planet?
- Which is the biggest?
- Which planet has most moons?
- Which planet is furthest away from the Sun?
- Which planet goes fastest around the Sun?
- Which planet goes the longest around the Sun?
